You Brush Your Teeth, Right?
Yesterday, I poked a buddy of mine in the belly.
You know, like the Pillsbury Dough Boy commercials.
Only there was no "hee hee" like on TV.
Instead, it was, "I know, man, I know."
My boy has packed on some pounds, and I'm not the type to ignore that.
"I know," he said again.
"I really need to get back in the gym, but I just don't have the time."
Y'all know what I said, right?
Bullshit!
And you know why I said that, right?
Because it's bullshit.
And you know how I know that, right?
Because for years I said the same bullshit.
I was thinking about that this morning while I was brushing my teeth. 99.9% of folks would never consider going through a single day without brushing their teeth.
Much less a week.
And certainly not for an entire month!
They've always got time for that - but no time to get to the gym.
And I know - brushing your teeth is only a couple of minutes a couple of times per day.
I realize exercise takes longer.
But not THAT MUCH longer.
The point is that we all do it no matter what. We'll run late to work to brush our teeth. We'll stay up later than we planned to brush our teeth. Most of us will do whatever needs to be done to get our teeth brushed.
It's non-negotiable.
But when it comes to our health, we don't have time.
And that's bullshit.
Especially when there's so much you can do in short periods.
A walk after supper.
Twenty air squats each time you get up from your desk.
100 push-ups every night.
None of that is time-consuming - and you don't even need a gym to do it!
Now, if you don't want to do it - fine. I've got no problem with that. It's your life, your body, and your consequences.
But if you're telling me the sole reason you're not taking care of your physical health is because you don't have time, I'm calling bullshit.
And you know as well as I that I'm right.
Side note: speaking of brushing your teeth, check out this stuff from The Van Man (https://amzn.to/3Shqn6j). It's a powder instead of paste and has hydroxyapatite instead of fluoride (which is terrible for you), and it makes your teeth feel like you just left the dentist. It seems pricy, but a little goes a long way - this jar should last between 2 and 3 months.
The Van Man is my fav, but if you want to try a smaller quantity, Primal Health makes a little jar that's only $10 (https://amzn.to/3QxkGzK).
Happy brushing!
Now go exercise!
