The Toyota Bullshit Meter

Yesterday a few people asked me where I find the time to exercise the way I do.

"How do you do it?" they asked as if it was a secret.

"I make it a priority."

And then they gave me the "Yeah, buts."

"But I don't have the time."

"But I don't have a gym near me."

One guy said, "But I don't have any trails like that near me."

Y'all, seriously?

That's all a bunch of bullshit.

Look, if you don't want to feel better, perform better, live longer, and have fewer health problems, that's fine. It's a free country, and nobody says you have to exercise.

But if you do want it, there ain't a thing in the world stopping you other than your own damn lies.

And when you say, "But I don't have. . ." that's what you're doing.

Lying.

Because you do have time! (turn off the TV).

You don't need a gym! (Do you have a floor at your house? Do some pushups.)

You don't need trails! (Do you have a road where you live? Good! Now run on it.)

Now, about this truck.

It belongs to a dude in the First Gen Tundras group on Facebook. He lives in a small desert town in Arizona with no gyms nearby.

Did he say, "But I don't have any gyms, so I can't work out?"

Hell no.

He put a gym in the back of his truck.

Every day, at lunch, he sets it up.

Works out.

And then breaks it all down and loads it back up for the next day.

He posted this picture after finally getting an awning to help with the heat - it was 98° when he took it.

I saved this picture to my desktop.

I put it there to remind me, on days like today when I don't feel like getting after it, that any excuse I can come up with for skipping out is just a bunch of bullshit.

So tell me again, what's your excuse?
