I Don’t Give A Damn About Any Of You!
[Fair Warning: foul language alert]
Yesterday I had to run over to the new grocery store to pick up a couple of things. It was just after 5:00 when I got there, so the place was packed with other people picking up stuff on the way home from work.
Full parking lot.
Cars everywhere.
Most times at this store, you can just park, but this time I had to look around for an empty space. I spotted one and started to turn in, and then. . .
BRAKES!
There was a damn grocery cart sitting a couple of feet back on the left side of the space - right where I couldn’t see it until I’d committed to the turn. I just about hit it and, if I had, I would have crammed it right into the truck in the next spot over.
I tell you what, I cannot stand the type of person that will leave a shopping cart in the parking lot.
If you want to know the truth, I think it shows one of the absolute worst sides of humanity. It spotlights the self-serving, self-centered, self-absorbed side of one’s personality.
It says, “I don’t give a damn about you, and I don’t give a damn about your car!”
It screams, “I don’t care how much you paid for that car or how hard to work to maintain it!”
It tells the world that the person who left the cart there thinks they are better and more important than everyone else on the planet.
It shows everyone that that person doesn’t care about anyone else. They care about nothing other than not having to walk twenty steps over to the cart return.
That last part really burns me up - the not walking over to the cart return - because it’s just fucking lazy!
Yes, I said it’s fucking lazy because that’s precisely what it is.
Fucking lazy.
And it’s fucking sorry, too.
