Cereal For Dinner?

Y'all seen the Kellogg's thing yet?

Gary Pilnick, the CEO, says if your cash is tight, eat cereal for dinner.

And as to what consumers might think of the message, he had this to say:

"It's landing really well right now. Cereal for dinner is something that is probably more on trend now, and we would expect [it] to continue as that consumer is under pressure."

If you had any lingering thoughts that Kellogg's produces real food or that companies like Kellogg's give two shits about your health, think again.

Kellogg's doesn't produce a single food that you should eat. Not one.

The "more affordable" message is a lie, and the "food" they make is killing us.

Eggo Waffles, Bear Naked Granola, Pop-Tarts, Pringles, Zesta Crackers, Fruit' n Fiber, Raisin Bran, Garden Burgers, and Fruit Winders - it's all just flavored sugar.

Plus they're targeting our kids.

Look at this YouTube commercial with Tony the Tiger pushing the cereal for dinner message - https://youtu.be/U8Dw1bjRxY0?si=YzaWXsTkI6WN1L_.

Freeze frame on the table setup, and let's see what we're having for dinner.

-->Froot Loops (sugar)

-->Frosted Flakes (sugar)

-->Frosted Mini Wheats (sugar)

-->Orange Juice (sugar)

-->Toast (sugar)

-->Apples (finally! real food!)

Type II Diabetes, anyone?

So, the food is crap, but what about the value for "that consumer under pressure?"

Let's go shopping at WalMart.com, shall we?

Froot Loops Mega Size (24 oz) - $6.28

Frosted Flakes Mega Size (30 oz) - $6.28

Frosted Mini-Wheats Family Size (24 oz) - $4.48

Great Value Orange Juice, 1 Gallon - $7.48

Great Value Bread (for toast) - $1.42

Apples, 3 lbs - $3.86

Great Value Butter - $3.98

Great Value Milk - $3.06

So we're in for $36.84

For the same money, we could have:

Apples, 3 lbs - $3.86

Great Value Butter - $3.98

Great Value Milk - $3.06

2 lbs ground beef - $9.76

Farmhouse Eggs (18) - $4.50

Avocados (5-6 count) - $2.36

Bananas, 2 lbs - $2.12

All that, and we have $7.20 left.

So let's get:

Two oranges - $1.96

Frozen Green Beans, 12 oz - $0.98

Frozen Carrots, 12 oz - $0.98

Frozen Broccoli, 12 oz - $1.16

Frozen Cauliflower, 12 oz - $1.16

We've STILL got $0.96 left, so let's grab a pound of Roma tomatoes.

With all this, we can make two solid meals for four people and stretch it to three if needed. Either way, we'd have real food left over instead of empty boxes.

No, it's not as easy as cereal, but on the upshot, it's real food that nourishes us versus fake processed bullshit that's poisoning us.

Kellogg's is trying to make it about the money.

They're trying to make it about affordability.

They're taking advantage of tough economic times to line their pockets while encouraging us to poison our children.

And they're hoping we won't notice.

As to Mr. Pilnik, my Granny taught me that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything.

So all I have to say is, " ."
